Toys "R" Us, Wayne, NJ Real Estate Staff Auditor (Posted on: March 05, 2010) Real Estate Staff Auditor
The Staff-Store auditor will participate / assist in the various activities associated with the development, performance and monitoring of a new retail store internal auditing program. These activities will include store-level risk assessment, audit technique development, audit scheduling, audit performance, results evaluation and communication and reporting responsibilities. This position will report to the Manager - Store Audit.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist the Manager-Store Audit in identifying the key performance indicators relevant to evaluate and select store locations based on risk, historical performance and materiality.
- Obtain a Working knowledge of store systems (COSA, SIS, MRS, etc.)
- Participate in the performance of activities designed to achieve compliance with the annual store internal audit plan.
- Assist the Manager-Store Audit with drafting, review and delivery of store internal audit reports, and ensures that management responds adequately to the issues and recommendations set forth in such reports.
- Maintain an understanding of the industry, business trends and emerging developments of relevance and shares this knowledge frequently with the other staff members.
Candidate Description:
The ideal candidate for a Store Staff Auditor is an individual who:
- Is interested in learning numerous aspects of the Company at an accelerated pace.
- Is of high integrity and should be able to use discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential information.
- Has an appreciation for the people who manage the processes and business functions that they might be asked to evaluate.
- Seeks to develop a skeptical attitude as an auditor, while maintaining a tempered appreciation for the realities and complexities of doing business.
- Has a thirst for learning and should have an aptitude for understanding the basics of information technology and its relation to business functionality.
- Is interested in developing a business foundation rooted in the importance of internal control as well as basic investigative and analytical skills.
- Is able to discern when an event or occurrence has diverged from an expected set of conditions and should be able to identify the need for procedural improvements.
Qualifications
- 2+ years relevant accounting, auditing or lease administration experience
- Pursuit of professional certification (CPA, CIA) is preferred
- BS degree, Accounting or Finance related area preferred. Masters Degree a plus
- Able to work independently and multitask several simultaneous audits in a fast-paced environment
- Very strong written and oral communication skills
- Common Area Maintenance Audit experience a plus
- Very strong organizational and analytical skills
- Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office, Tririga, Winlease, Outlook Soft and Oracle
- Ability to travel extensively. Position will require extensive domestic travel, likely in excess of 50%
